Emma Willard School
Latin Instructor
Troy, NY
I have been a Spanish, Latin and German teacher in Independent Schools since 1986. I knew I wanted to incorporate technology into my teaching as soon as I saw the first Broderbund "Living Book" in 1993. I have been honored with the task of reviving Latin at Emma Willard, thanks in great part to my commitment to exploring blended learning and "the Flipped Classroom." Over the years, I have used systems such as Moodle, Haiku and Schoology to extend learning outside the classroom, and in my current Latin courses, most of our work together takes place outside of the classroom. I have learned a good amount about what works well--and what doesn't work at all--in my blended courses, and am eager to share my experiences and solicit feedback from others.
