Radix in your classroom: Implementing a multiplayer online game for STEM learning

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

From the Education Arcade at MIT comes The Radix Endeavor, a multiplayer online game targeted at improving mathematics and science understandings and engagement in high school students. In the game, players take on the roles of scientists and mathematicians to explore and explain a virtual game world. Tasks in the game are designed for a diverse group of learners and emphasize inquiry and exploration. In this workshop participants will play the game and learn about how it can be implemented in various classroom settings. The workshop will begin with an overview of the project and detail how in-game tasks are aligned with the Common Core State Standards for math and the Next Generation Science Standards for biology. Participants will then have a chance to play through a demo version of the game, ask questions and learn about participating in the pilot study for the upcoming school year.
