Computer programming serves as a stimulating and challenging practical skill that draws from traditional subject areas. Learn to teach programming with Alice, a freeware educational programming tool from Carnegie Mellon. Alice serves as a tool not only to inspire all students to a wider array of careers, but particularly to interest girls in scientific and technical fields, where women are underrepresented. Computer programming can be taught by itself, or integrated as skill enrichment supporting existing curricula.
