Video games in the classroom are not useful unless they can actually enhance and augment the curriculum, but the good news is, even commercially successful games can! We will look at how regular video games improve the everyday classroom and enable your students to experience things that just would not be possible without them. A variety of games and apps will be explored within the classroom context. In addition, we will discuss practical suggestions for implementing games effectively in the classroom. (Lisa taught for ten years in grades K-8 and is a firm believer in the power of video games for learning.)
